I have just read Lila Maya Rai’s story in the Nepali Times. I will certainly make a point of going to see the exhibition at Baba Mahal. Would there be any possibility of meeting any of these special ladies? I really am fascinated by Nepali elderly people and I think this exhibition is a wonderful idea. Well done – I’ll send some more feedback whenever I visit the exhibition.
When I heard of Hamra Hajurama photo exhibition, I cycled during one of the bandh days from Baluwataar to Babarmahal all the way. It was a pleasure reading the stories on wall displays and the photos were amazing. Curious, I bought your book and cycled straight back home. One morning got my tea and sat with the book. While flipping through I was quite disappointed with what I saw. Most photos are either too dark or not edited properly. Every black & white photos have different tones. They don’t have the same black richness. And what went wrong with page 72 and 73? Isn’t this one photo but printed with two different tones? Being myself a photo enthusiasts especially black & white I was quite disappointed that I paid Rs. 1000 for such poor quality book, the binding is already coming off. I loved your concept and the stories are really amazing. I only wish your technical team had given better attention to the book which will stay for a long long time. All the best on your future projects.
